UAS Special Programs Department
This year marks my sixth year at UAS, and I am excited to continue building opportunities that allow our students to learn beyond the traditional classroom. As Head of Special Programs, one of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping students connect what they are learning in school to experiences, challenges, and opportunities in the wider world.
Special Programs brings together a variety of experiences designed to encourage students to explore their interests, develop new skills, challenge themselves, and discover what they are capable of accomplishing. Whether students are working with professionals through the CAPS Program, designing and programming a robot, developing their communication skills through the English Language Olympiad, exploring entrepreneurship, or preparing to share an idea on the TEDx stage, each experience provides another opportunity for them to grow.
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I look forward to continuing to expand these opportunities and strengthen the connections between our students, teachers, families, alumni, businesses, and the wider Kuwait community. What I enjoy most is watching students step outside their comfort zones, take ownership of their learning, and realize that what they do in school can have an impact far beyond the classroom.

UAS CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies Program)
The CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) program at UAS is a unique opportunity for high school students to step outside the traditional classroom and immerse themselves in real-world, career-focused learning. At its core, CAPS is about bridging the gap between school and the professional world, giving students the confidence to take ownership of their learning and envision themselves as leaders and innovators. UAS is proud to be the only school in the region offering the CAPS program, providing students with an unparalleled chance to bridge the gap between school and the professional world. Through UAS CAPS, students take on authentic projects and challenges provided by our school, local businesses, organizations, or community partners.

This year, UAS is proud of our upcoming TEDxUAS Kuwait Youth event, an exciting platform where our selected students and some adults will share their ideas, passions, and visions for the future. Built around the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TEDxYouth events give young people the chance to take the stage and inspire their peers, families, and the wider community with talks that matter to them.
The TEDxUAS Kuwait Youth event will showcase a diverse range of student and some adult speakers, each bringing a unique perspective and story. In addition to inspiring talks, the event will highlight creativity, leadership, and innovation, reflecting the dynamic energy of our UAS community. We look forward to welcoming families, friends, and community members to be part of this memorable occasion. Other Events or Programs
The UAS Special Programs department is proud to offer a wide range of other exciting opportunities that challenge students to grow, innovate, and showcase their talents. Our Robotics Team gives students the chance to design, build, and program robots while competing in regional robotics competitions. Similarly, our English Language Olympiad (ELO) Team allows students to sharpen their communication and critical thinking skills as they compete against other international peers, representing UAS with pride and excellence.
