Where is the school located?

The campus is located in Hawally, Block 212, Mousa Bin Nassir Street, opposite to Qadsiya area, Kuwait.

What is the school's curriculum?

UAS offers an American College-preparatory curriculum leading to the high school diploma and college admissions. In addition, Arabic and Islamic Religion program provided from the Ministry of Education.

Is there a school uniform or dress code?

Yes, all students must be in full UAS uniform each day unless otherwise notified. Our UAS dress code is based on the premise that all students attending our school are of equal importance and worth. We practice the values of worth and dignity of each individual as a member of the larger student body and make no distinction between students of different nationalities, cultures, or socio-economic status.

Please note: All aspects of the Dress Code are governed by the Honor Code, which implies that all students should be reasonable, decent, and display good taste in their dress for school.

If my child has been in the British system, how is grade placement done?

The numbering system in the British system is different from ours. If a student is in level two in the British system, the equivalent grade in the American system is grade one. It is important to realize that this is not repeating a grade. It is merely a different numbering system.

Where are the UAS faculty members from?

The majority of the faculty is North American. The UAS faculty is carefully selected to ensure they possess high academic and professional standards. All faculty must possess at least a bachelor’s degree and be certified and licensed as a teacher.

Why is an admissions test given?

Admission tests are given at UAS because UAS is a college preparatory in nature, it is important that students who are admitted have the ability to be successful at our school. These tests let us know how the student will do here.

What kind of test is it?

Test of Academic Performance is given. It measures the mathematics, spelling, reading recognition, and reading comprehension level. By taking this test, we have a measure of the grade level at which the student is functioning, and the test also shows a percentile score that will indicate how the student did in comparison to other students in our school.
