Student Support Services

Health Clinic

The UAS Clinic has a dedicated medical team including our school doctor, registered nurses, nurse assistants and medical secretary. The clinic is well equipped to provide first aid care and emergency treatment – for all our students and staff – throughout the school day, including activities.  The Clinic team is well prepared, and experienced, to meet all the challenges of regional endemics and global pandemics such as COVID-19. The Clinic team play a key role overseeing the COVID-19 vaccination programs for the faculty and students. We also provide social- emotional support, while implementing all the necessary Health and Safety Guidelines initiated by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE) Kuwait.

In addition, the Clinic team facilitates all the preventive health services for students required by the MOH and MOE, including annual health screening, vaccination programs, and running health awareness programs and CPR courses for staff.

Counseling Services

The mission of the UAS Counseling Department is to help support the personal, social, emotional, and academic development of our students so that they become productive citizens and lifelong learners.

Curriculum Development

Curriculum Coordinators help facilitate and collaborate with administrators and teachers to create high-quality professional development opportunities for teachers.

During the school year, the coordinators develop UAS curriculum plans and evaluate its textbooks and software programs. Specific content area standards are compared to United States National Standards and International Standards then reviewed and updated accordingly.

Based on teachers’ needs, the coordinators create and help tailor instructional materials, support implementation of new materials in the classroom, and mentor or train educators. They also partner alongside teachers as instructional coaches to increase student achievement.

Academic Software Coordinators

Academic Software Coordinators’ responsibility is to manage the PlusPortals package, which is the official communication tool for the UAS Community.

Our office provides technical software support to students and parents in a variety of methods which may include contact by phone call, e-mail and remote. We attempt to diagnose and resolve issues reported in a timely manner and work simultaneously with the International Software Support team to assure the best educational service is provided.

We are aligned with the school goal that a true education lies in a life-long willingness to learn and adapt in the midst of a constantly changing world. Our team works to continually improve service provided for any challenges that may arise.

Transportation

We offer transportation services throughout a regular academic year for students from Early Childhood to Grade 12. Our drivers are reliable and ensure your child’s safety on and off the bus.

We espouse to provide passengers with a safe, clean, and hostile-free environment and provide students on all buses with proper safety and security equipment such as seatbelts, bus tracking system, and camera monitors.

Canteen

We believe that a healthy student is a happy student and a happy student is an alert student. Our canteen’s menu is based on Ministry of Private Education’s approved vendors and provides students with the best choices for their lunches. Additionally, the food is inspected daily by our registered medical team to ensure student health.

Parents are encouraged to provide healthful lunches and snacks for their children at school, especially if students participate in after-school extra-curricular activities.
