First Annual Class Election of Grade 2nd

Congratulations to second grade on their first annual class election! Students in second grade did a wonderful job in writing and presenting their speeches in front of an audience.  In this three-week simulation project, students learned about the steps taken in an election, creating an election campaign, and making informed decisions when electing a leader. This project integrated different subject areas including social studies, persuasive writing, reading, speaking and listening all in one summative project. Students developed and practiced teamwork skills by supporting their fellow candidates in the election. Well Done Second Grade!
