It was a band extravaganza these past two days at UAS. Under the supervision of Dr. Charles Dallaire, Middle School and High School students conducted a string of sensational concerts for their peers. The students performed in front of the entire school, with Grade 5 and 6 students showing that they had learned to play together as a team, and surprised their older peers. Grades 7 and 8 students played Rock and Jazz music where many improvised solos like pros. They also performed a band version of Mozart’s “Rondo alla Turca” which all pianists know. A dramatic piece “The Tempest” allowed everyone to play as a mass band. The concerts ended with a medley of songs from The Beatles and the audience were highly entertained and clapped along to the music. Music is certainly alive and well at UAS.
