Student Council
What is it?
The UAS Student Council consists of 10 elected students (2 from each grade level) and exists to promote the school community, foster school spirit, and serve as a link between the faculty and students. The Student Council is a democratic organization that requires leadership and teamwork. Student Council representatives are responsible for hosting extra-curricular events such as BBQs, movie nights, fundraisers and other activities that the students would enjoy.
When is it?
The students of each grade level elect officers after a week of campaigning. Elections are held at the end of April or the beginning of May.
What is the time commitment?
Meetings are held on a weekly basis and the students are expected to set up, attend, and pick up after events. Students interested in running for office should speak with the Student Council Adviser.
Who can join?
Students that wish to run for office are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.6, exhibit excellent conduct (no suspensions), and be involved in the life of the School. During their time in office, they must maintain these standards.
